Did you know that drowning is the #1 cause of unintentional death for children 1-4 and #2 up to age 14?

Neither did we.

Drowning knows no season, no age, and no race.  It can happen to ANYONE at anytime.
The good news? Drowning IS Preventable.
Start keeping your family safer today by educating yourself and learning the layers of protection.   NOW is the time to sign up for swim lessons, put up proper barriers such as a pool fence with self closing, self locking gate, door and window alarms, and get yourself trained in CPR.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It only takes a few seconds....
It only takes a few inches of water.
Are you and your child prepared?
The scenario has been heard or read too often: we lose sight or look away from our children for mere seconds, and it's already too late.  If your child found himself in a situation with water...would he know how to save himself?  We believe there are ways to help and answer that question with a "yes".  The story can end differently.
   Learning to swim and being near an adult is not enough.  Infants (as young as 6 months old) and toddlers can learn self-rescue techniques that could be life-saving.
 As adults, we need to pledge to be WATER GUARDIANS, giving children in or near water complete undivided attention.
Just as children learn to "never talk to strangers" and "look both ways when crossing the street," they also need to know, "Never go near water without an adult!"
                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We need you to be a part of this mission!

Because of B.R.A.Y.D.E.N. founder, Michelle Zieg along with son, Nathaniel, had the opportunity to attend the 2025 National Drowning Prevention Alliance's Water Safety conference in St. Pete's Beach, FL.  It was an exciting and inspiring few days of learning, networking and being encouraged to keep up this work.  Big things are ahead for this coming year and we are so blessed to be a part of Families United to Prevent Drowning.
For the second year, National Drowning Prevention Alliance teamed up with the Association of Aquatic Professionals for a joint conference.  This allowed for more connections to be made, a broader spectrum of information shared and more calls to action on how we can all work together to prevent drowning.   Be sure to check out our Not. One. More. stories project to be uploaded soon which is a powerful piece that we are sure will make a great impact.

Interested in a Water Safety Presentation at your school, camp or group meeting?  We offer multiple programs catered for children of all ages, adults, caregivers, or staff. This year I am so excited to add the Rees Specht the Water Assembly program by the ReesSpecht Life Foundation, as something we offer locally.  This fun, animated, and interactive program will help kids learn and remember skills to keep them safer in and around the water.  Contact us to set something up!
