THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came out, participated, supported, and shared our 4th Annual Water Safety Day  May 11, 2013! It was a great day and we are thankful for the opportunity to reach MANY Lowcountry families with the message of Water Safety!!

It only takes a few seconds....
It only takes a few inches of water.
Are you and your child prepared?

The scenario has been heard or read too often: we lose sight or look away from our children for mere seconds, and it's already too late.  If your child found himself in a situation with water...would he know how to save himself?  We believe there are ways to help and answer that question with a "yes".  The story can end differently.

*Sadly, drowning is the number one cause of accidental deaths for children 1 to 4 years of age.*

Learning to swim and being near an adult is not enough.  Infants (as young as 6 months old) and toddlers can learn self-rescue techniques that could be life-saving.
As adults, we need to pledge to be WATER WATCHERS, giving children in or near water complete undivided attention.
Just as children learn to "never talk to strangers" and "look both ways when crossing the street," they also need to know, "Never go near water without an adult!"
As part of our mission , we will strive to lower those statistics, to spread awareness of the importance of water safety, educate people on the layers of protection necessary and to see  that all children have the opportuity to learn swimming and self-rescue skills.
